Because it's been FOREVER since I posted anything (sorry!) I though i'd do this cute little list i found on Tumblr today. i don't know the source though sorry! ><

I do have a shapping/haul post in the works and some other stuff so yeah.... i just have no time what with uni becoming horribly work intensive.... but yeah.



1: make me laugh, support my obsessions, play video games, be hygenic and tidy (im really messy so someone has to be tidy. XD), buy me presents.

2: I feel strongly about always reading a franchises books. Whether before or after, it doesnt really matter (but before gets you brownie points). Things such as Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Twilight etc.... all those films become much clearer and understandable once you have read the books. Any film that was originally a book is like this. you understand and see and hear sooo much more if you have already read the story they came from.

3: oh my. so so so many. Memoirs of a Geisha is maybe my favourite though.

4: - wake up stupidly early because of my mysterious pain in my side.
- say goodbye to boyfriend as he leaves for work
- play Draw Something for an hour while lolling around in bed
- leave to go home (getting in at 9.00am)
- Do uni work
- go to drs appointment
- get food and snacks at the korean food store
- pick up prescription
- go home and do more uni work
-sit on Tumblr for 2 hours

6: Some of it is good, some of it is awful and makes no sense to me. I'm obviously getting old.

7: people spelling your and you're wrong (same goes for there, they're and their.), people not taking care of their DVDs properly and then i borrow them and they dont work because they are scratched, My boyfriend not having good pillows, people using or borrowing my stuff without asking or returning them in a worse condition than when i lent it to them. people asking me to do things i was gonna do anyways.

8: oh my. for breakfast i had toast with peanut butter and apricot jam on and a yoghurt. For lunch because i was feeling so rubbish i treated myself to a croissant and a doughnut and i have just eaten an entire pot of yummy korean snacks. not the healthiest of days. i usuall eat better than this. :/

9: Very (see pet peeve number 1). However i don't think something as high as a uni/college education is particularly essential. unless you are becoming a Dr... or something like that. I'd like my doctors to be uni and med schooled please. lol

14: I am currently wearing mint green tights, yellow shorts with pastel pink and purple drips around the bottom (which i painted on myself. :3) a H&M top with cupcakes on that says "Cutest of cupcakes" (i heart cupcakes) and a navy blue cardigan.

15: Taurus - it's actually pretty close. I'm stubborn etc. i try to ignore the "does not play well with others and is self centred" part though. XD

Learning Japanese: Genki Review

Today's post will be a review of Genki. The Japanese language textbooks and workbooks.

As my plans for moving to Japan are now for definite i have been teaching myself japanese using these books. I do a chapter or so of the textbook then do a few pages of workbook a day. it seems to be helping as already my Hiragana knowledge has shot way up.

The way the book teaches you is very good as it gives you a text or paragraph in hiragana with romaji underneath and then gives the translation of it in english below. This way i can look at the text, read the romaji and figure out what it says then study the hiragana. The other day i could understand a whole conversation (romaji only)!! It then gives you nice list of the vocabulary at the end of the lesson in Hiragana, romaji and english translation along with notes on the grammar and fun little facts on the language. Then it goes on to re-enforce the lesson, teaching you how the sentence structure works, how to use words (like doko, soko, asoko, dore, sore, are etc) and where they belong in the sentences and how to successfully use conjunctions etc.

One niggle i did have with the book however is how little the "alphabets" (yes i know they arent really alphabets) are introduced and how they work at the beginning of the book. especially as after lesson 2 it kinda launches straight into only hiragana. You will need your hiragana chart handy for the workbook too.

Overall however it has so far been a challenge (and i'm not even onto lesson 3 yet!!)but nevertheless one that has stuck and i seem to find myself knowing more when i study than i did the day before. which is... you know nice. But i have always had an affinity at learninf and "getting" new languages.

One thing that has been reccommended to me is the audio CDs that go with the books that supposedly help with pronunciation etc. My pronunciation has always been commented on at how good it is by my japanese friends however so i think i will save these for when i know more japanese itself and need to start listening to the faster flow of it better. but whatelse is anime for right? XD

I've reccommend these books. they have been pretty good so far!! :)

The Quest for Perfect Butterbeer

It is probably a good idea for me to keep track of this.

Being a Harry Potter fan to the point of it being unhealthy, I am on the quest for the perfect Butterbeer recipe.

The last one I made was a greasy buttery disastor that was too sweet and i could feel it clogging up my arteries as i drank it. The one before that was close in taste but not enough think drinkable froth. Also it was cold and i want something to drink warm.

The one i just tried which is based on a much more historic recipe was was bitter when you first drank then got the sweet aftertaste and made me shudder and is went down. needless to say it was.... unpleasent.

I'm going to document my efforts here i think. I want a recipe that i can drink warm and possibly has a slight alcoholic tint to it although that isn't neccessary.
It also looks like how it looks in the film. Rawr.

Yes i know many people have recipes up online but so far i have yet to find one that i can make nicely OR find one that i can actually get all the ingredients for. (brown cream soda doesn't exist in england) Or i could always make my own recipe when i have the time/money.

P.S I dont wanna know about The Wizarding orld of Harry Potter and how people have drunk the butterbeer there at the Three Broomsticks. I'm so bitter that i could explode. XD Plus a girl i was friends with (and who, i recently found out, has decided that she hates me for no apparant reason) went there over christmas so it's a bit of a sore spot. I thank you in advance for not rubbing salt in that particular wound. :)

hahaha no just kidding, i was wearing my friends costume there.

I dressed how i dress now, Fairy Kei is only a secondary fashion, especially as i really cant be bothered when i'm just going to uni for an hour or whatever. Tights or leggings under a skirt or shorts, top and some kind of cardigan or jumper. I'm trying to do fairy kei more though. or at the very least fairy kei inspired! My own style has almost always been influenced by fashion in Japan though.




☆ Day seventeen: Do you dress in also another style, e.g. Lolita.

Not Lolita, i dont think i'd suit it but i'm interested in it. Other than my own style, no. :( sorry for the boring answer.



☆ Day eighteen: How do you dress when you go to school?

Uni. ahem.
Depends, if i'm in for a long day i usually put in more effort. But it usually consists of tights or over-the-knee socks, skirt, tshirt and cardigan. it sounds very boring but i have a wide range of everything. XD currently, my fairy kei consists of wearing basically the same but switching them for pastels.

The My Little Pony plush my brother won me in a UFO catcher, my Hello Kitty and Cupcake cushions, my Gloomy Bear teddy and my Ramond and Scott "Scott Pilgrim" plushies. :)

Hmm..... I see it either peetering out to something as obscure as Takuya Angel now (my japanese friend didnt even know what that was) OR getting bigger and bigger as SPANK! expands and possibly influencing western fashion (the Usamimi trend reached here and 80s cartoon printed stuff is coming into fashion again!)

Christmas, Sales, Hauls and Resolutions

Hey everyone!

did you all have a good christmas if you celebrate it?

I got everything i wanted so i'm very happy. Among my favourite presents are my pink and while polka dot Zatchels satchel, the Muppet OPI nail polishes "I Lily Love You" and "The Fresh Frog of Bel Air" and my Secret Shop Starry Engineer replica boots (which have yet to arrive but are still already a fave!)

Yesterday i went to London to look for fabric for my final uni project and ended up spending a LOT of money in Bravissimo. We also went to go and see Howl's Moving Castle at the Southwark Playhouse. It was meant to be a surprise but i actually guessed before i came to stay at my parents and then had it confirmed when my dad left the reciept for the tickets lying around. XD
The show was pretty good although despite Stephen Fry narrating and Fyfe Dangefield composing it wasn't amazing. They kind of rushed the story so only those who had read the book really knew what was going on, the actor who was Howl was really good, but the other 2 cast members (who did old sohpie, young sophie and the witch of the waste) weren't very good at all. they were wooden and generic. However, the set was astonishing! It was all completely white but had the castle cut out in relief as if it was cut from card and was pushed forward. The locations were then projected onto the white background. It was really clever and really effective. I would reccommend this show just for the set.

Today i went out with my brother shopping as i had £40 worth of riverisland vouchers to spend and needed to return a sweater that didnt fit right. I then proceeded to spend a good amount of money on other things.... :/

My Riverisland haul was good. only spend £20 of my vouchers. I got this pineapple top

It was weird because i was just about to give up my search when i found all 3 things tucked away at the very end of the row. the shorts were just hanging there without a reduced label. I took them to the lady and asked if they were on sale and she scanned it. Turned out they were marked down from £20 to £5! bargain!

Paperchase pens and bunny iron-on transfer. LOVE this line of Decora-ish stationary from paperchase. totally buyable and it was all on sale. almost bought it all. XD

Twin Star hair set (contains clips a bracelet and some hair bobbles) in a cute star shaped pot and reflective keychains (not bought for the reflectivness) from H&M. H&M have started doing lots of twin star stuff in the kids section. they have some really cute socks there too but they wouldn't fit my feet. :(

New Years resolutions.... ahhhhh, always made and never kept..... i dont have a full list yet but my first one is to Keep up with blog post series. I seriously apologise for starting 2 or 3 and not actually going through with them. I've just been much busier than i originally thought! ugh. apologies. hopefully in the new year i will do better. or be sensible and not start any until i have a good chunk of free time in my forseeable future!!
oh i need to do a bodyline post too! My pannier skirt is adorable and i wore in christmas day, boxing day and when i went to london yesterday. XD totally love iiiittt!!!

Where did i go??

Heeeey everyone!

first of sorry my last post was so random! I'll tell you all about that in a second.
secondly, homigawd i have new followers! hiiii! XD

Ok so the reason why i've not been very active with my blogging recently is because i've been uber busy and keep forgetting to blog about what i'm doing. yeah total lameo i know but its all water under the bridge. i have forgiven myself already. XD

Anyways, on tuesday the 8th of november i went to the Channel 4 building in London to attend an E4 recruitment day to because an "E4er" it will involve blogging about new upcoming stuff on E4 and promoting it to the world! I dont know if i have been chosen yet (i will find out in a few weeks)but it was a great day and as really excellent experience!
I had no idea where i was going when i came out of St James Park tube station but i followed my iphone and where it told me to go when all of a sudden BAM!

it was just there! the 4 out the front is like loads of giant balloons (i poked one) and unless you stand at the right angle they dont match up, just like in the channel 4 adverts. :)
The day was filled with complete madness! we were split into 3 teams, pink, green ad yellow. I was in yellow. We then had to do a variety of different tasks which included creating our own super heroes (how would we use the powers to spread the E4 word?), creating a new tv show that has never been shown on E4 before and promoting an "Esting". They are little videos of filler put in between shows and adverts that viewers create and send in. :) So, hence the link in my last post. we had to blog, tweet, facebook, email, text and call everyway we knew how to get as many views of our team's Esting in the space of an hour. Our team came second over all. It was a really great day and made all the better by the AMAZING goodie bag we got at the end. an E4 bag, E4 notebook and the complete series of skins, misfits and inbetweeners. :) I had a lot of fun! fingers crossed for getting a place! XD

I've now finished my christmas shopping! yay! i started in july and finished this week. im satying at my parents this week and went with my mum and my brother in 2 different days. :D

on one of these trips i went into H&M and what a haul i got there! I dont have any photos yet but i'll put one up when i do!
I got a pair of denim overalls which i will be cutting short and customising, a mint high waisted skirt, a pink stripey skirt and a pair of pale orange shorts. :) all of this cost me £8! not even joking! my mind was blown. XD The mint skirt needs a bit of decoration though. it's kinda plain. something like a cute pocket or lace or something. :)

let's see what else have i been up to...

oh! this year I decided to chip in with mum's christmas stockings and made soap for everyone. i found a tutorial on making snow globe soaps which looked so cool and i decided to try myself. however they didnt really turn out that well. you can see the little things i put inside if you ho;d them up to the light but other than that it didnt really work as i hoped. i think the were too big and round for the size of things i put inside. but i'm still giving them out. :) on the same day i made these soaps i got some fluffy wool. it's been really hard to find the right yarn for making those mokomoko hair pins/brooches but i finally found some great stuff!

It's so fluffy and soft! XD
My mokomoko accessories arent ready for photos yet but they're coming along nicely. I keep making stuff too big then having to unwrap them and cut them smaller. haha. oh well.

but i did carve my pumpkin and have a little too much fun in shibuya booth altering pictures of my rats. XD

Shibuya Booth is a fun app I downloaded on my iphone that is kind of a mixture between MS Paint and purikura. I'm sure there are better purikura apps out there but this one was free and keeps me entertained. anyways, i turned a couple photos of my rats into halloween messages to my family.

101 in 1001: Cake Decorating Course

The first of my tasks on my 101 things in 1001 days is completed! yay!

On tuesday the 27th i went on a cupcake decorating course! It was a present from my brother for my birthday. i just kept forgetting it which it why i booked it for like 4 months after my birthday. haha!

I had to stay at my parents house because it was in reading and mum drove me.

I was feeling very self concious because of how little was was wearing but it turned out to be suuuuuuper hot in the room we were in so i was kinda glad in the end

We had some time to kill before the course started so we went to a cafe up the road called Maison Blanc. I had the saucicon and brie baguette and HOMIGOD it was good. XD


It wasnt just a cafe it was a boulangerie and a pattisserie too! they had some delicious looking pastries and macaroons and stuff.





I got there a little late. oops. but it hadnt started yet and they were waiting for 2 more people after me so it wasnt too bad.
I couldn't take photos all the way through because my iphone was running out of battery and my hands were very sticky most of the time. o.0

It was on my mum's phone because mine had died. they're kinda squashed together by that point in the car. :( oh well.
The bow was my tribute to lolita. haha

All in all it was a good day. some of the stuff i knew already but some of it was really interesting and informative. :)

101 Things in 1001 days

The other day i joined up to the site Day Zero.
The 101 Things in 1001 Days project is a project in which you have 1001 days (about 3 years) to complete 101 tasks or missions of your choice. They have a have a definitive start and end/ accomplishment. They can be anything from cutting your hair to travelling around the world.

I really liked the idea as i sometimes wake up feeling a bit "meh" about life and my directions.

I don't actually have 101 things yet, i haven't chosen 101 things and i've run out of inspiration at around 70 things. i will most probably add to this list as i go though.

For my sanity i have split them up into different categories and will list them in order of smallest task to largest (within the category)

OK so:

Books/Films/Games
1: Watch a new series of Anime - I want to discover a really good anime and watch it all
2: Watch all Harry Potter films in a row - Harry Potter nerd! yay!
3: Platinum Red Dead Redemption
4: Get 10 friends to recommend 10 books and read them all
5: Go one whole day (24 hours) without technology - this one will be hard because i can't sleep without music playing....

Cooking & Food
6: Try new sushi
7: Open a cookbook to a random page and cook whatever is on it - unless it's fish, blegh

Next Week is National Cupcake Week!! My Kinda week! So i've decided that every day next week i will eat at least one cupcake a day and do a blog post on them, how they were etc. Plus i'll be making some too.

This week i tried a new hair style! I've always admired the japanese/korean/chinese top bun style. Suzuki Airi from C-ute has worn her hair like that a fair bit but i never thought it would suit me. then the other day i got fed up with my hair being in my face while i was tidying so decided i would put more effort in that just a ponytail and wore it in a top bun. what do you think? did i do it good? :3

My Lightswitch

So this is random but i wanted to share my lightswitch cover with everyone.



Lumos! Nox! Yes i'm a geek.

I saw the idea on Etsy while i was browsing through Harry Potter themed items and thought it was cool so i decided to make my own.
I had the lightswitch cover already from when my room was purple and flowery and it matched so i painted it up and added rhinestones. yay! I'm a nerd! XD

I'm other news, i had to take my nail varnish off today because im working and the last thing i need is for one of the gems to fall off into the sample cups and i get fired. so clear polish it is right now. :) I might paint tem again when i get home later. :3

10 Facts

I thought it would be a fun idea to put up a list of 10 supposedly interesting facts about me~ :D

So here goes:

1: I have a tattoo on my foot. It's a cupcake. No i'm not joking

see? XD

2: I'm about to go into my 3rd year studying costume at uni. Totally loving it! :D

3:I HATE all orange flavoured things, drinks, sweets, vitamins, anything. blegh. However i do love to eat actual oranges.

4:After i finish uni i plan to up and go to Japan to teach english for a year. I'd give my right leg to go to Japan and i've had a couple of failed attempts but now it's a possibility! :D

5: I have 2 pet rats. A Grey hooded with a white blaze called Tokyo and a black hooded called Ezio after the Assasins Creed character. :3

6:I am scared of the dark (no joke, i have to have a night light or something) and I have a phobia of people being sick (apparently it's a common phobia?)

7: I hate horror films but gory films make me giggle (ie: The Ring terrified me but Planet Terror [by Robert Rodriguez] had me rolling around on the floor) XD

8: I love to wear over-the-knee socks, my favourite wardrobe item and are kinda my "thing"

9: I'm a geeky gamer girl and although Kingdom Hearts is my favourite game, I've recently enjoyed platinum'ing Alice: Madness Returns. Amaaaaaaaazing game. go play it!

10: My Favourite food is: Custard and Fruit Salad. Least Favourite food: Broccoli (blegh)
My favourite film: Memoirs of a Geisha, Scott Pilgrim. Least favourite film: I dont really have a film i dislike but District 9 was pretty terrible.

I cant think of any other favourite/least favourite combinations right now. but yeah! 10 facts about me! XD

Fairy Kei Nails

I've really been spamming up the Fairy Kei huh?? Well it's my new obsession so I'm allowed.

These nails i started like 2 days ago and only just finished today. The rhinestones all fell off and blah blah blah.
If you ever followed my first blog RadioHexi you'll know that I LOVE to do my nails and nail art and today was the perfect day to get them completed! :D




They aren't my neatest nail art by any means, i really need to invest in some new brushes so i can make those stars neater but they're light and fun and cute and have lots of colours. :D

I'm gagging to do some sewing or SOMETHING right now but i just cant afford to buy any fabric.... until the 28th that is. mwahahaha. but i have a uni project to finish which is really irritating me because it's a drawing project and i'm a maker, not a designer, i can't draw anything that's in my head. I hate my lecturers right now. i can show i know the silhouettes of the 20th century without having to draw it! >:/
